Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour says Herman Cain would “sweep the South” if he is the GOP nominee against President Obama in 2012.
Barbour, a former national Republican Party chairman who flirted with running for the White House, told radio host Laura Ingraham that Cain is appealing because he is “likable.”
“He does not give you the impression that he is full of himself, but rather than he is a straight-talking person who…calls it like he sees them,” Barbour said. “He’s not trying to sugar coat anything and at the same time he is not trying to be shrill and a chest beater.”
