NEW YORK – One of the officers involved in the 50-shot killing of an unarmed man on his wedding day is publicly telling his account of the incident for the first time.

Gescard Isnora testified Wednesday at a New York Police Department trial in the 2006 death of 23-year-old Sean Bell.

Bell was killed and two friends were seriously injured. The shooting occurred outside a topless bar where police were investigating reports of prostitution.

Isnora fired 11 times.

No weapon was found in Bell’s bullet-riddled car. That sparked accusations that the NYPD was too quick to use deadly force in his case and others.
