Penn State Is Planning Joe Paterno’s Exit; Son Says Job Is ‘Status Quo’

Joe Paterno’s son, Scott, told reporters outside the Paterno home that “no one has asked Joe to step down,” according to a report by Ron Musselman of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The elder Paterno was surrounded by reporters as he left for practice and said, referring to the press conference the university canceled: “I know you guys have a lot of questions. And I was hoping I was going to be able to answer them today.”

Scott Paterno said his dad’s job is “status quo.”
