Guess who’s on the bubble for this week’s The Biggest Damn Lie? Newt “Chuckie” Gingrich … and here is why

MR. NEWT GINGRICH: The fact is that more people have been put on food stamps by Barack Obama than any president in American history.

According to factcheck.org, the rise in families receiving food stamps started long before Obama took office and accelerated as the nation was plunging into the worst economic recession since the Great Depression. Under Pres. George W. Bush, the number of recipients rose by nearly 14.7 million. Nothing before comes close to that. In fact, the program has so far grown by 444,574 fewer recipients during Pres. Obama’s time in office than during Pres. Bush.

What? Do you guys think you’re just making this stuff up, and it’s true?
Well, it doesn’t. And you, Newt Gingrich, of all people when it comes to lying — especially when it comes to what’s happening in your home — you, sir, get this week’s award for telling “The Biggest Damn Lie.”
