Joe Madison Credits Whitney Houston For Saving The NAACP Image Awards (VIDEO)

Joe Madison, former NAACP chairman remembered Whitney Houston as one of the people responsible for saving the NAACP Image Awards from obscurity. In a display of her often overlooked but ever present generosity, Ms. Houston and her co-star Denzel Washington interrupted filming of The Preachers Wife in 1995 to travel across the country to Los Angeles to host the Image Awards.

“It took hours to tape the show and Whitney never complained, she was the picture of patience and grace, and that’s how I choose to remember her”, said Madison.
