It’s time for The Biggest Damn Lie! This week it’s from Fox News host Sean Hannity. With Hannity, so much of what he says is a lie, and so we had lots to work with; but this week he really outdid himself.
Hannity says that the President Obama really didn’t want Osama bin Laden dead.
MR. MARTIN: All right. It’s time now for our new segment, “The Biggest Damn” –
MR. MADISON: [Crosstalk] –
MR. MARTIN: — “Lie.”
MR. MADISON: — lie. Yeah.
MR. MADISON: Ah, this week it’s from Fox News host Sean Hannity. With Hannity, so much of what he says is a lie, and so we had lots to work with; but this week he really outdid himself.
MR. SEAN HANNITY: I know the President will say, “Well, we got bin Laden.” Putting that aside –
MR. FRANK LUNTZ: And the public gives him –
MR. HANNITY: — and –
MR. LUNTZ: — credit for that.
MR. HANNITY: — they do. The public does give him credit for it, but it wouldn’t ’ve happened if he[’d] had his way, and I think that can be proven as well – on tape.

MR. MARTIN: Re- — really?
MR. MARTIN: Sean, really? I’m sorry. Le- — let’s go back to Republican former Defense secretary Bob Gates. We heard a little bit from him last week, debunking a Mitt Romney lie. Here’s a bit more, taking down Hannity’s assertion that the President really didn’t want Osama bin Laden dead.
SEC’Y. ROBERT GATES: I’ve worked for a lot of these guys, and this is one of the most courageous calls, decisions, that I think I’ve ever seen a president make – for all of the concerns that I’ve just been talking about: the uncertainty of the intelligence, the consequences of it going bad, the risk to lives of the Americans involved. It was a very gutsy call.

MR. MARTIN: See, Sean, when you give the order to take ’em out, that means you – you want ’em dead. So, Sean Hannity, the once – and no doubt future – purveyor of “the biggest damn lie.”
