A south side pastor, fed up with an ongoing spate of shootings that’s claiming the lives on Chicago’s youth, called upon those who’ve found success to do more to protect those living with violence.
“I’m asking Dwayne [Wade]. I’m asking Derrick Rose. I’m asking Jennifer Hudson. I’m asking Quentin Richardson. All those folks from Chicago. We need you. I’m begging you. Come out here And talk to these young people. They’re wearing your shoes. They’ll listen to you. Your voice means something. My voice doesn’t mean anything,” Fr. Michael Pfleger said Friday at a rally near the scene of a shooting a day earlier that left one dead and five injured.
Among the injured was the nephew of Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade.
