WASHINGTON POST: Zimmerman To Be Charged In Trayvon Martin Shooting, Law Enforcement Official Says

Source: Washington Post

Florida special prosecutor Angela Corey plans to announce as early as this afternoon that she is charging neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in the shooting of Trayvon Martin, according to a law enforcement official close to the investigation.

It was not immediately clear what charge Zimmerman will face.

Corey told reporters Tuesday night that she would hold a news conference about the case within 72 hours. A news release from her office said the event will be held in Sanford or Jacksonville, Fla.

Benjamin Crump, who is representing the Martin family, said earlier this week that Corey’s office had asked where Trayvon’s parents would be each day this week. They arrived Wednesday in Washington for a civil rights conference organized by the Rev. Al Sharpton, where they are scheduled to speak.

George Zimmerman (Soon to be Charged)

Along with the charges, I would like a SIDE ORDER of COMMON SENSE legislation that impedes neighborhood watch organizations from carrying concealed weapons across the nation. If George had a 2-way radio, this tragedy would not have been reality. And for dessert, the elected officials should be held accountable (i.e. public acknowledgement, resignation from position, etc.) for not prosecuting earlier. This will certain BALANCE the SCALES OF JUSTICE!

  • Um duh! lol But what are the charges? Certainly the prosecution took this long to build a solid case specially crafted for Zimmerman. I wonder murder 2, negligent homicide, felony murder, or the safest, manslaughter along with a several less offenses, but all felonies to included in the charges, like stalking, harassment etc
