Chris Brown Drake Brawl Fallout: Tony Parker May Miss Olympics Because Of Eye Injury
Source: AP / CBS News
NBA star Tony Parker may miss the London Olympics after almost losing his eye in a fight involving singer Chris Brown and members of hip-hop star Drake’s entourage.
Parker’s cornea was scratched in the fight, and the San Antonio Spurs guard has revealed he had to have an operation to remove a shard that had “penetrated 99 percent” of his left eye.
Parker says, “I almost lost my eye,” adding, “I hallucinate. I just spent eight days trapped in my hotel. I was not allowed out to prevent infection. I was so afraid that I have not left my room. I asked myself many questions. I cannot believe that happened to me a month before the Games. Every two hours, I have five different products to put in the eye.”
He did not join the rest of France’s team recently and will see a specialist in New York when he is cleared to take long-haul flights after July 5. The Olympics get under way on July 27, and Parker would be a key player on the French team.
