ABC 7 Chicago: Jesse Jackson Jr. Leave Of Absence Could Continue Through Labor Day

Sources tell ABC News that Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. may not return to Washington until after Labor Day.

Jackson has been on leave for one month. At first his office said he was suffering from exhaustion then two weeks later said his condition was more serious than originally thought.

Tuesday, a reporter asked Congressman Emanuel Cleaver of the Congressional Black Caucus if Jackson might return between two weeks and four months. He responded: “In between what you just said.”

Illinois Congressman Luis Gutierrez said Tuesday that Jackson is in his prayers, but he needs to be more forthcoming.
