Washington – The House Oversight Committee will file a civil contempt lawsuit against Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday seeking the release of documents linked to a controversial weapons crackdown, a Republican congressional source said.
Committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa’s official Twitter account seemed to echo the developments.
“We are filing charges against Attorney General Eric Holder tomorrow,” the post late Sunday said.
The lawsuit stems from a contempt of Congress citation passed by the House of Representatives last month, and was expected.
