John Sununu: Obama Won Because Of Voters Dependent On Government Programs

During a fundraising and awards dinner with two other Republican former governors, Sununu stated: “They aggressively got out the base of their base, the base of their base that’s dependent, to a great extent economically, on government policy and government programs,” reports the Concord Monitor.

This post-election statement is eerily similar to Mitt Romney’s statement before the election about the “47 percent.”

Romney was unknowingly recorded stating that “there are 47 percent who are with [Obama], who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them.”

Along with Sununu, former governors Steve Merrill and Craig Benson also spoke.  Agreeing with everything Sununu said, Merrill added Obama’s re-election was not due to his performance, but rather “his personality, particularly in campaign mode.”
