SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. — It was supposed to be a magical trip aboard a Disney cruise ship for 37-year-old Cedrick Royce Swinson, his girlfriend and her two children.

Instead, the Charlotte, N.C., man is in jail on charges of carrying out a credit union robbery Thursday in Satellite Beach. Investigators say Swinson could not come up with the final balance owed for the cruise, and he felt “pressured” to fulfill his promise to buy tickets for the long-planned excursion.

“It’s a bizarre set of circumstances,” said Cmdr. Brad Hodge of the Satellite Beach Police Department.

The robbery happened at about 10:40 a.m. at the Navy Federal Credit Union in the Atlantic Shopping Plaza.
