Detroit — Kwame Kilpatrick is back in federal prison Friday after undergoing surgery on an injured knee.
Kilpatrick has returned to prison in Milan, according to U.S. Bureau of Prisons spokesman Ed Ross. It was unclear if he returned Thursday or Friday morning.
“He is definitely back in Milan,” Ross said.
Milan prison officials can provide Kilpatrick with an estimated 2-3 months of physical therapy at the facility or by contracting with an outside doctor.
