CHICAGO — Chicago police were investigating a shooting that injured three people Friday, including a 5-year-old boy, in the city’s West Pullman neighborhood.
The shooting happened just after 12:30 a.m. at Cooper Park near 117th Street and Ada.
According to police, a male gunman opened fire on a group, hitting the boy and two men as they enjoyed the Fourth of July celebrations at the park.
The boy, Jaden Donald, was hospitalized in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. ABC7 Chicago was told he was intensive care. Two men were being treated for less serious injuries and were expected to be OK.
