‘Chef Reggie’ Cooks Up Inspiration For Westside High School Students In Houston

Chef Reginald Martin could say preparing food is in his blood.

The catering operation he owns with wife Merinda Watkins Martin has been a family business since his grandmother started it out of her home.

But while Martin finds his work as executive chef with Lemond Market and Catering rewarding, he says that it’s his role as a culinary arts teacher at Westside High School that touches his heart.

The Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation recently presented Martin with its Educator Excellence Award for 2013-14.
