Family Zimmerman Saved Won’t Appear With Him In Public, ‘Don’t Want To Be Associated With George’

The family that George Zimmerman saved from an overturned vehicle earlier this week insists that, while they are thankful to the man recently acquitted by a Florida court for the murder of Trayvon Martin, they are terrified of being publically associated with him. Today, a spokesperson for Zimmerman attorney Mark O’Mara confirmed that the family will cancel a planned news conference saying that “They don’t want to be associated with George.”

“Mark and Dana Michelle Gerstle told friends and neighbors that though they’re thankful Mr. Zimmerman helped them, they do not want to talk publicly about him for fear they will be accused of portraying him as a hero,” reads a Tuesday report in The Daily Mail.

“They are very grateful to Zimmerman for what he did, but they do not want to get involved,” an anonymous friend of that family told the Mail. “There is so much hatred directed towards him they have got to think about their own family. There are a lot of crazies out there. If they say anything in support of him it could backfire.”

    Sounds like a wise family. Seeing as volatile as he is, I’d be afraid of his help. It’s amazing he’d even volunteer after the Trayvon incident. He needs to lay low for his sake, as well as other’s.

    So this man was portrayed as an out of shape person who couldn’t fight off a 17 year old skinny boy but he lifted up a car? Really though?

    The news sais that Georgie showed up after another man rescued the couple, did he show up with iced tea and skittles?

    I could have been standing on the side of the street watching this – and I wouldn’t have believed it was Zimmerman doing it…or would have waited for the “family” to pay their Screen Actors Guild dues.

    If this -ish ain’t about a set-up I don’t know what is.

    Also…he couldn’t fight off a teenager without a gun – but you expect me to believe that he dragged grown folks out of a flaming car?

    I wish i was there to see that. But if it is true then great work and family members sounds like wise persons. This is right that they are thankful to him and don’t want to involve in his matters. Check David Ala Chalfin br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}
