SANFORD – Even though he’s not required to, George Zimmerman‘s defense attorney said in closing statements this morning, he will prove to the jury that the Neighborhood Watch volunteer is “innocent,” of murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

Jurors listened to more than three hours of closing arguments from Zimmerman’s defense attorney  this morning, as he worked to convince the panel that the shooting death of unarmed, black  17-year-old was an act of self-defense.

Defense attorney Mark O’Mara in the last moments of his argument, drove home the tenets of his self-defense argument.
