Another employee of former Food Network star Paula Deen has come forward with allegations of the chef using racial slurs in the workplace.
Chef Dora Charles, who helped Deen open her flagship Savannah, Ga. eatery Lady & Sons, claims that the 66-year-old culinary queen even wanted Charles to dress up in “an old-style Aunt Jemima outfit” for dinner service.
Deen denies that she ever asked Charles to don an Aunt Jemima costume.
“Dora’s complaint is not about race but about money,” Deen’s representative told the Times. “It is about an employee that despite over 20 years of generosity feels that she deserves yet even more financial support from Paula Deen.”
