A contingent of “Breaking Bad” viewers, upset by an ill-timed cable outage during Sunday night’s episode, apparently behaved like a pack of meth addicts.
After Cablevision customers in parts of Southern Connecticut endured the outage, the Fairfield Police Department received a flurry of calls on the 911 line meant for emergencies of the more serious kind.
“We are receiving numerous 911 calls regarding the [Cablevision] outage,” a representative wrote on the department’s Facebook page in a post flagged by The Associated Press but later taken down. “This is neither an emergency or a police related concern. Please direct your inquiries to Cablevision.”
The rep also warned that “misuse of the 911 system may result in arrest.”
