Shooting Suspect Shot After Being Tracked By Police In SW Denver

DENVER — Police tracked and shot a suspect who killed one woman, wounded another and was in possession of multiple incendiary devices in southwest Denver on Friday morning.

A tweet from the Denver Police Department around 11 a.m. confirmed that an active shooter incident was ongoing near the intersection of West Evans Avenue and South Irving Street. Witnesses reported that officers were tracking a man with a long gun and two propane tanks.

As of 11:15 a.m., police were saying via Twitter that the shooter was “down,” and that the individual had sustained a gunshot wound.

Around 11:30 a.m., police said the “shooting situation” had be “resolved,” and that officers were launching an investigation. Police also confirmed shortly after that time that a bomb squad was moving in to deal with “evidence” in the area.
