The Indianapolis Colts have waived safety John Boyett a day after he was arrested on public intoxication and other charges, reports CBS Chicago.

An Indianapolis police report says the 23-year-old was upset he was not allowed into a downtown nightclub early Monday because he had too much to drink.

The report says when an officer attempted to arrest Boyett, he ran.

After he was caught, Boyett repeatedly told officers “You can’t arrest me, I’m a Colts player.”
