Dave Chappelle Weighs In On Hartford Heckling: ‘I Wanted To Pull A Reverse Kramer’

Comedian Dave Chappelle took a rocky experience with a Hartford, Conn., crowd last week and used it as source material for his Chicago show Tuesday night, according to TMZ and an audio recording on YouTube.

Chappelle had walked off the stage at the Comedy & Curiosity Festival in Hartford after being heckled, telling only a few jokes before leaving.

“If North Korea ever drops a nuclear bomb on this country, I swear to God, I hope it lands in Hartford, Connecticut,” he said in Chicago of the Hartford crowd filled with “young, white alcoholics.”

“I wanted to pull a ‘reverse Kramer’ and call them all ‘crackers’ or something like that,” he also said, referring to an infamous n-word-laden stand-up set by comedian Michael Richards in 2006.
