Mrs. Obama’s Push To Drink More Water Draws Criticism

A sign of our divided times: Even a first lady project encouraging people to drink more water is drawing criticism.

Mrs. Obama travels Thursday to Watertown, Wis. — naturally — to promote a new program by her Partnership for a Healthier America to encourage people to drink more water.

“Drink just one more glass of water a day and you can make a real difference for your health, your energy, and the way you feel,” Mrs. Obama said in a statement. “So Drink Up and see for yourself.”

Yet Politico reports several public health experts as saying that the White House is overselling the benefits of water.

You know what? personally I was hospitalized for 8 days, totally dehydrated. I drank everything except water, i.e. sodas, all types of fruit punch, orange juice, not cranberry juice, but cranapple drinks, coffee. My sister-in-law working as a manager in retail, collapsed one day. Reason why? dehydrated, had not been drinking water.

I won’t even read the article criticizing FLOTUS for encouraging us to drink more water. That’s just extremely stupid. Anyone who is complaining about her encouraging us to drink water is just a complete moron. Seriously.

I completely support the First Lady! I teach first grade and from day one I encourage my students to bring a bottle of water, fill it up when its empty and if they bring a bottle of water with a big enough opening I fill there bottles with ice, from the ice maker I have, so their water is nice and cold for them. And those who don’t have a water bottle I have a special hall pass they use to go to the water fountain in the hall as often as they like without asking. Go First Lady Obama!

Oh, come on people. They aren’t criticizing her for talking about Water. She’s an intelligent and beautiful black woman married to our President. Beautiful black women are supposed to be actresses or singers. Or possibly work FOR a white President. The critics are misspelling “black”.
