Three Killed, At Least 12 Wounded In Chicago Shootings Since Monday Morning

ROSELAND — Three people, including a 16-year-old boy, have been killed and at least 12 others have been injured in shootings since Monday morning.

Maurice Knowles, 16, was sitting on a porch in the 10500 block of South LaSalle Street about 5:30 p.m. Monday when a gunman opened fire from a nearby gangway, authorities said.

Maurice was shot in his chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 7:22 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Also Monday, a 27-year-old man was killed about 8 p.m. in Englewood. Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 5700 block of South Princeton Avenue, said Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.
