Dick Durbin: GOP Leader Told President Obama ‘I Cannot Even Stand To Look At You’

Source: Tal Kopan / Politico

The No. 2 Democrat in the Senate, Sen. Dick Durbin, says that a House Republican leader told off President Barack Obama during a negotiation meeting, and that they are so disrespectful it’s practically impossible to have a conversation with them.

“In a ‘negotiation’ meeting with the president, one GOP House Leader told the president: ‘I cannot even stand to look at you,’” Durbin wrote in a post on his Facebook page over the weekend.

Calling a government shutdown strategy from Republicans “disastrous,” Durbin did not specify which leader made the comment, what the context was or how the president responded.

The Senate majority whip offered the comment as rebuttal to the Republican argument that Obama does not do enough to communicate with Republicans, essentially saying to do so is impossible.

The late Ms Helen Thomas said “President Obama lacks courage”.
I guess this was the lack of courage she was talking about.

What on earth are you trying to say? Are you maintaining that the President should have punched this loser in the face to prove his courage? Your post needs to be explained!

      • tiztiz

He should have done what his wife did to that HECKLER.
Step to this fool and tell him – he is not taking the GOP BS anymore. Is that enough explaining for u….

This shows that you really don’t understand what is happening. That is precisely the response these guys are hoping to get out of him. His approach of staying above the fray and being the adult in the room is the ONLY practical one.

I definitely know what is happening – its been happening ever since Obama became President and will continue to happen.
Politics don’t give a DAMN about whose the adult in the room – Politics is about POWER/CONTROL. If u don’t understand this – then it shows U don’t understand what is happening.

Politics has always been about POWER/CONTROL. Go back through HISTORY – this is clearly shown throughout history.
The problem is people try to be some political this/that. Politics is about who got the POWER and who CONTROLS it – period!
We need to learn a new strategy – the old strategy is D.O.A

Of course we know who it is — the jew, Eric Cantor is the one. It bothers me to observe that the jews are by far the worst of the racists. They don’t deserve the sympathy that the entire world population has showered on them since the so called “pogrom” in the Nazi’s occupied Europe. Of course we will never know if that too was one of the tall tales which lack empirical verification.

My mother in law (Jehovah’s witness) says so to me. Jesus once said: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation”. So where are we going? The Bible says: “At the appointed time [the king of the north] will return back.” (Daniel 11:29a) The return of Russia in this context means crisis, which will eclipse the Great Depression. Not only the Euroland will break up, but also the European Union and NATO. Then many countries of the former Eastern block will return under the wing of Moscow.

      Me too… LOL –

  • richie rich

But we don’t really know what POTUS said to him in response to this..Some are assuming that POTUS just stood there trembling…He might have tore him a new asshole…We don’t know.

first of all this is purely hearsay. you don’t know if a GOP really said it like that for one thing. and the other thing everything is taken out of context. Without hearing or seeing a transcript of the conversation there should not be any opinion. Sometimes politicians just want to keep stirring the pot and fanning the flames to make you think a certain way. Thats manipulation people
