Forget CNN, political commentator Roland Martin has found a new calling–the D.C.-based television drama “Scandal.” Martin has been a prolific Tweeter on the show and has interviewed several of the principles including star Kerry Washington, her co-star Columbus Short and Judy Smith, the real crisis manager behind the Olivia Pope character.

This week, in advance of Thursday night’s Season 3 premiere, Martin has launched a new section of his website,, that will be all “Scandal” coverage, all the time.

On top of that, Martin has been tapped to host a “Scandal” watch party at a downtown D.C. nightclub, the Park at Fourteenth. “DC! I want to see ya’ll at the [Park at Fourteenth] on Thursday for the Season 3 Watch Party for @ScandalABC,” Martin tweeted. “I will have a special treat at the end!” he promised.

Martin was an analyst for CNN until March, when new president Jeff Zucker decided to overhaul the network’s talking heads. James Carville, Mary Matalin and Erick Erickson all exited the network as well. Since then, Martin’s been doing work for TV One, a network aimed at black adult viewers. He’s also continued to sell ties, bowties and ascots through his Verse Nine collection.
