Suspicious Materials Found At Multiple Hotels Near Super Bowl Site

Suspicious materials have been discovered at multiple hotels located near MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Friday, prompting each of the hotels to be evacuated, FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo reports.

The FBI recently released this statement about the incident:

The Joint Terrorism Task Force and Hazard Materials units have responded to several locations that have received a suspicious letter and substance. There are no reported injuries at this time, and the locations are being secured. This situation is being thoroughly investigated and more information will be provided when it becomes available.

Lyndhurst Police Captain James O’Connor said they are investigating a “suspicious envelope” at the Courtyard Lyndhurst Meadowlands near MetLife Stadium, site of Sunday’s Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos. People are coming and going from the Courtyard, including Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz, who Garafolo said “had no idea that anything was going on.”
