Dr. Ben Carson Set For Exclusive Interview On TV One’s NEWS ONE NOW, 4/4

Source: Broadwayworld.com

On Friday, April 4, Dr. Ben Carson will appear exclusively on TV One‘s live daily news program, News One Now, airing at 9:00 AM/ET. In a first, News One Now will devote the entire hour to Dr. Carson, who will be interviewed by managing editor and host Roland Martin and take viewer calls live on air.

Dr. Carson rose to prominence as the first neurosurgeon to successfully separate conjoined twins at the head. He has been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and is the author of six books including Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story which was made into a television movie starring Cuba Gooding, Jr.

Recently, Dr. Carson has received attention for his comments on social and fiscal issues. He is an outspoken opponent of the Affordable Care Act, calling it “the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery” in a speech delivered to the conservative Voter Values Summit in October of 2013. In a recent presidential straw poll held during the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference, Dr. Carson emerged in a surprising third place, prompting his supporters to rally behind him as a Republican candidate in the 2016 presidential election.

Remarked Martin, “For years, Dr. Ben Carson has been a hero in the eyes of many Americans, especially African Americans. His story growing up in Detroit and not excelling in school until he was admonished by his mom not to waste his life has been an inspiration to many. Yet his reputation has taken a huge hit as a result of his attacks on the Affordable Care Act; his incessant criticism of President Obama; and the revelation of his views as a right wing conservative.” He continued, “At News One Now, we have not been afraid to showcase the views of Black conservatives. Black America is not monolithic and all viewpoints must be given a fair hearing. Our audience has wanted to understand why Carson thinks the way he does about a multitude of issues, and I am glad that he is willing to have an important discussion with the African American community, as well as take phone calls and social media questions from our audience.”

Now Dr. Carson has and did take the opportunity to explain the context in which his comments were made. However why can he not do that during the onset? The “I’m misunderstood” mantra won’t cut it. Also some businesses are so small until they cannot match their employees contribution toward a health care plan. What are these employees left to do?

Good for you for acknowledging that all black Americans don’t think alike, but they all want the same things everyone does — first and foremost good schools, safe neighborhoods, job opportunities, affordable, EFFECTIVE healthcare (which the current system fails African Americans more than any other group; Dr. Carson, who’s always said that the big insurance companies should not be able to profit from denying anyone coverage, and is offering an entire new program that keeps the most popular aspects of ACA, but offers especially young people a much better system), a reformed Social Security program (which currently also penalizes blacks more than anyone else), an energy policy that opens up federal lands to natural gas drilling, approves the Keystone Pipeline which would immediately create tens of thousands of new, great-paying jobs and make us energy independent within just a couple of years, reforming our broken tax system, getting rid of corporate welfare and crony capitalism — that’s just a whiff of the goals that a President Carson would pursue. What wouldn’t he do? Get involved in personal and social issues like gay marriage and abortion, which he believes should be left up the states, not decided by one or two Supreme Court justices for the entire country, He’s a spectacularly accomplished man, an inspiration to ALL Americans and a proven LEADER. Who else on either side of the aisle can you currently say that about?

Dr. Carson was also, in addition to receiving the highest award that an be bestowed on a civilian (the National Merit of Freedom Award) and named “a Living Legend” by the Library of Congress…he also received the highest award that the NAACP gives out. And what other candidate’s story is so dramatic and inspiring (see article above) that a moving was made out of his life…?!

Seeing that this article was originally published several months ago, it is interesting to note that Dr. Carson’s positive stature has only continued upward since that time, in spite of the incessant insanity emanating from the White House and throughout the world.

Regardless of which scandal, lie or tragic event makes the headlines, Dr. Carson is in the background, shaking his head with disbelief and dismay. How can this country get so off track so fast? Americans everywhere are shell-shocked by the incompetence and incoherence of our current president. Are we all blind? What can possibly be missing in this picture? To be sure, much of the answer lies in the rose-colored glasses worn by the media. And to many, white is a color important to the current Administration, indicative of surrender, empty promises and blank stares. Red lines are important, but after you draw them repeatedly in invisible ink, the whiteness soon returns there as well.

Americans young and old are yearning for a true and capable leader, one who won’t leave them feeling blue. Too many average Americans have dark circles under their eyes, caused by worry and insecurity. Many are green with envy, wishing they, too, could receive government handouts for free.

But the color white can also have a more positive, purer metaphorical meaning. Indeed, the importance of a White Knight has never been clearer. Here, Dr. Ben Carson rides high in the saddle, energized by supporters of every sort, from every place. And these aren’t just average, ho-hum cheerleaders. These are committed, dedicated individuals who truly
appreciate the greatness that this man exudes. He offers these and other Americans a new chance — a start over opportunity to this time get it right. Ben Carson is a bright beacon of hope in an otherwise stormy night.

Recognized by some as perhaps the most honored (potential) presidential candidate in history, Dr. Ben Carson enters the fray without typical political baggage and grimy fingerprints of meddlesome handlers. Instead, he offers a message of calm reassurance that everything will be all right if we just turn off the unnecessary hatred and nastiness, open the closed minds, think positively, trust in ourselves, be respectful and ultimately, play an active role in the growing movement called American exceptionalism.

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Carson has proven time and again why he has been so highly honored and recognized. Those with opened ears will hear the good doctor explain how to ratchet down the rhetoric and pump up the patriotism. He recognizes the importance of clear and consistent messaging, straight talk, hard work and honesty. His best-selling books explain clearly what makes this man tick. There’s no hidden ideology here…Dr. Carson is the real deal.

His soft-spoken style is sometimes misinterpreted as being unimpressive and non-presidential. Hogwash. I say get past the calm demeanor and consider what he is saying within the intended context.
Is it logical? Will it have positive consequences? Will others embrace it? Can we afford it?

Dr. Carson’s philosophy toward hard work and self-determination isn’t new, but it isn’t popular nowadays, either. He champions winners, personally financing the Carson Scholars Fund with millions of his own. At every turn, Dr. Carson shows up like Billy Jack, just in time and for all the right reasons.

Looking forward optimistically, we can all be winners when Ben Carson is successful in his greatest challenge. But first we must open our minds, close our mouths, roll up our sleeves and get back to doing our very best in everything we do. We owe that to our children and cannot survive as a respected nation if we choose to ignore the call.

A good number of people in this country are so sick of D.C. politics as usual and politicians in general, so someone who hasn’t been corrupted and co-opted into one tribe or another in Washington is a plus. In that sense Dr. Carson is a breath of fresh air and he is exactly the kind of leader the Founding Fathers envisioned when they wrote the founding documents. They wanted strong patriots who would leave their farms, businesses or medical practices (several of the signers of the Constitution were physicians) to go serve their country honorably and bravely, then return to their families, homes and livelihoods. Finally, a number of our greatest presidents have had little political experience, from the first ones to one of the greatest, President Lincoln (who only had one two-year term in Congress before becoming president.
What is necessary for an effective president are the qualities Dr. Carson has in abundance: character, wisdom, leadership, intelligence, compassion, trustworthiness, and, perhaps above all, a great love of country and its founding principles.

  • Dr. Carson knows….., as do all historically literate people…….,
that despite the human races extraordinary capacity for invention and progress we humans clearly have a millennia-old problem, that of how to balance power, leave humans the freedom they crave, yet offer government services that get
people to flourish and not be crushed under bureaucratic order.

The United States, was built on the idea that maybe, just
maybe we humans can control ourselves, not envy each other, work hard, share, don’t hit,
    you know…be United .

Under this current administration America is becoming everything
but the aforementioned. The good Dr. Reminds
us of what made her great in the first place and why people come here in the

does not require someone to do brain surgery; it requires wisdom and patience
