After spending just a few hours in a Memphis jail, Judge Joe Brown was released on his own recognizance.
According to a spokesman for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Judge James C. Beasley signed an order to set him free.
“I’m a little hot under the collar,” the former host of “Judge Joe Brown” told reporters upon being released without bond. “[In] forty years, I’ve never seen such a circus as they’ve got down there.”
On Monday, Brown, 67, was found in contempt of court during a child support hearing.
