Chris McDaniel, a Tea Party candidate for U.S. Senate out of Mississippi, is under fire for recently revealed remarks he’s made about reparations for the descendants of slaves, as well as members of the LGBT and Latino communities.
McDaniel, who is a state senator and former radio show host, is running against incumbent Republican senator Thad Cochran in a June 3 primary race.
The Wall Street Journal reports that McDaniel once said, “If they pass reparations, and my taxes go up, I ain’t paying taxes.”
In addition McDaniel is alleged to have made derogatory remarks about Latinos.
