Four people are dead and at least 24 other people have been wounded in shootings across the city since Friday afternoon, police said.
The most recent fatal shooting happened about 11:35 a.m. Sunday, when a 41-year-old man was shot to death in the South Side Washington Heights neighborhood.
The man was shot in the back while in a garage in the 9200 block of South Emerald Avenue, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Earlier Sunday morning, a 29-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the head in the 900 block of East 81st Street about 7:15 a.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:21 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
