Future, Janelle Monae and Rich Homie Quan will represent Atlanta in major categories for the BET Awards 2014 while Jeezy, T.I. and Trinidad James factor in several categories as featured artists.
Nominations in the 20 categories are selected by BETs Voting Academy, a group of more than 300 entertainment professionals.
Monae picks up her first-ever BET nomination and will vie for the title against Beyoncé, Jhené Aiko, K. Michelle, Rihanna and Tamar Braxton in the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist category.
Future is up for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist against Drake, J. Cole, Jay Z and Kendrick Lamar, while Rich Homie Quan –recovering from a head injury he sustained after suffering seizures during a recent video shoot in Piedmont Park – will seek the Best New Artist honor against Ariana Grande, August Alsina, Mack Wilds and Schoolboy Q.
