Author and TV personality Iyanla Vanzant told theGrio.com she thinks jail time will help troubled singer Chris Brown “fix his life.”
Vanzant, who hosts the award-winning Oprah Winfrey Network self-help series Iyanla: Fix My Life tells the site’s Entertainment Editor Chris Witherspoon that Brown has been rewarded for bad behavior throughout the course of his career.
When asked if serving jail time will help the “Forever” singer rehabilitate his career and life, Vanzant said, “Absolutely.”
“It’s an opportunity to be still,” she said. “I call jail ‘God’s vacation retreat center.’ You get the opportunity to retreat to the center of your soul and get clear with your creator,” said Vanzant. “Many young men have gone to prison and come out clear, focused, and disciplined. They went in and they realized they weren’t being punished, they were being held accountable.”
