NewsOne Now Audio Podcast: How Can We Hold Law Enforcement Accountable For Police Brutality/Violence

“NewsOne Now” guest host Jeff Johnson poses the question, what can we do to hold law enforcement officials accountable for police brutality and violence in our communities. What about Black-on-Black crime, or do we need to deal with all facets of violence in our community? Plus, what must we do to engage community law enforcement so that we are not just interacting with them in crisis mode?

Attorney Benjamin Crump and Pastor Jamal Bryant join guest host Jeff Johnson on “NewsOne Now” to deliver an update on the Mike Brown police shooting in Ferguson and detail what the next steps are to obtain justice for the slain teen. Listen to their entire conversation below.

Washington Mystics Guard Ivory Latta and Dr. Caryl Mussenden joined Johnson on “NewsOne Now” to explain the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer.

Despite being in excellent shape, doctors detected a golf ball sized lump in Latta’s left breast. It turned out to be benign but it had to be removed. For African American women, the risk of getting breast cancer is lower than for white women, but the risk of dying from breast cancer is higher. Listen to their conversation below to find out the keys to early detection.

The new season premiere of “Verses and Flow” premieres August 16th on TV One. Pages Matam and Rob Gibsun appeared on “NewsOne Now” to discuss the new season, speak a little spoken word and drop a few lines.
