NewsOne Now Audio Podcast: Tense Relationship Between Black Men And Law Enforcement

Several days ago, St. Louis police shot and killed  Kajieme Powell in a hail of bullets. The entire incident was captured on cell phone video and posted on YouTube for the entire world to witness. Do you think St. Louis police officers had to gun down 25-year-old Kajieme Powell who was allegedly holding a steak knife?

On Thursday, Roland Martin and the “NewsOne Now” panel, Joia Jefferson Nuri, Elroy Sailorand Yesha Callahan discussed the disturbing shooting incident.

It is a known fact that many individuals in the African-American community do not trust law enforcement officials and it is becoming more apparent, as a result of the recent rash of police shootings, that many police officers fear young Black men.

“NewsOne Now” takes a look at the tense relationship between law enforcement and African-American males and if there is something that can be done to rectify this situation.

St. Louis police officer and president of the Ethical Society of Police, Darren Wilson, appeared on “NewsOne Now” to talk about how African American parents should instruct their children to interact with law enforcement.

All that and more in this special edition of the NewsOne Now Audio Podcast.
