The South Carolina House of Representatives voted to remove the Confederate flag from the SC Statehouse Grounds after a highly contested debate.

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake Fires Police Commissioner Anthony Batts

In response to an increase in the homicide rate which reached a 25-year high in May and the police slowdown in Baltimore, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake has decided to fire Police Commissioner Anthony Batts.

Who’s Sending Black Folks To Jail? New Report Reveals 95% Of The Nation’s Elected Prosecutors Are White

A new study by the Women Donors Network revealed that nearly all of America’s elected prosecutors are White.

The New York Times reported:

About 95 percent of the 2,437 elected state and local prosecutors across the country in 2014 were white, and 79 percent were white men, according to the study, which was to be released on Tuesday by the San-Francisco-based Women Donors Network. By comparison, white men make up 31 percent of the population of the United States.
