Roland Martin talks to author Michael Eric Dyson about his new book, and what it has been like for President Obama and the politics of race in America.
“There is no question that Barack Obama has been attacked and insulted from every imaginable quarter. In a sense, we can say that Hillary Clinton might be more successful because she’s permitted to do things in policy in a way that President Obama couldn’t do,” Dyson said.
What criticisms do blacks have against President Obama?
“Black people have been supportive of him and have understood that he can’t do everything he may want to do, on the other hand he was slow to the uptick in the issue of dealing with race.”
