Black Teen Who Volunteered For Donald Trump’s Iowa Campaign Shares His Experience
James Patterson, III is a high school junior from Kansas City, Missouri who made national headlines for his decision to serve as a volunteer for Donald Trump‘s Iowa Caucus campaign.
Patterson wanted to see if the sentiments expressed about Trump in the media were accurate. He then joined Roland Martin on NewsOne Now to share his experiences with the Trump campaign and whether he experienced any instances of racism while working as a volunteer.
NewsOne Now panelist Michelle Bernard said, “This argument has been going on forever.”
“Since the days of Betty Friedan, many Black women would say to you (feminists), ‘your feminist movement does not include us.’ We’ve always had to work, whether to stay home or work outside of the home after you’ve had a child. A lot of those questions that apply to White women had nothing to do with our lives,” said Bernard.
During Roland Martin and NewsOne Now’s annual trip to Los Angeles for the NAACP Image Awards, Martin sat down with actress/comedian Kym Whitley for a hilarious, wild, and crazy interview.
During the comedic barrage of one-liners and jokes between Martin and Whitley, they were able to sneak in a few moments to talk about all of Whitley’s TV projects and her best attempt at the Delta Sigma Theta “Ooo-oop!”
All that and more in this edition of the NewsOne Now Audio Podcast.
