Ret. Lt. Russel Honoré Estimates More Than 110,000 Louisiana Homes Have Been Damaged By Flooding

President Barack Obama visited Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Tuesday to meet with several flood victims and surveying areas hit hardest by flood waters. At the present time, 13 people died as a result of the historic floods and more than 60,000 homes have been damaged.

Retired Lieutenant General Russel L. Honoré spoke with Roland Martin about the devastation experienced by the people of Louisiana and what is next for the flood-ravaged region, which he assessed is in worse shape than what is actually being reported by the media.

Martin Blasts Trump For Exploiting Black Plight To Win White Moderate Votes

In recent days, Donald Trump has recalibrated his presidential campaign to reach out to Black voters.

The GOP’s presidential nominee talked about the problems Black communities are facing and how he’s the person to fix them. The problem with Trump’s attempt to attract African-American voter support is that he’s making his appeal to Blacks in front of predominantly all-White audiences. The pitch Trump is using to woo the Black vote: “What do you have to lose?”

While many have been fooled into thinking that Trump is making a serious attempt to gain Black voters, Roland Martin views Trump’s Black voter outreach attempts as a way to prove to White voters that he is not racist.

Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein is no stranger to presidential elections.

The mother, physician, and environmental-health advocate also represented the Green Party during the 2012 election and currently holds the record for receiving the most votes ever by a woman candidate running for the nation’s highest office.
