Korryn Gaines Shot And Killed After Hours-Long Standoff

The 23-year-old Korryn Gaines mother was shot and killed while holding a shotgun in one hand and her 5-year-old son in the other.

A 6-hour stand-off began at around 9:30 Monday morning in Randallstown, Maryland.

Officers were attempting to serve arrest warrants to both Gaines and her boyfriend Kareem Kiean, who lived in the apartment.

After receiving a key to the apartment from the complex manager, the swat team opened the door and could see Gaines sitting on the floor with a shotgun and a child near by.

The child was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. During the stand-off, Gaines posted several videos on social media. In one of the videos, Gaines’ 5-year-old son, answers her eerie questions about the stand-off.

DNC CEO, Othe Officials Ousted

There’s more fallout from the email hack of the Democratic National Committee. Three more people have resigned.

The DNC announced the CEO of the Democratic National Committee, Amy Dacey, Chief Financial Officer Brad Marshall and Communications Director Luis Miranda have all resigned.

The first victim of the email scandal was DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

She resigned after many of the emails appeared to show favoritism towards Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over Senator Bernie Sanders. For now, Donna Brazile has taken over as the DNC’s interim Chairwoman.

Pres. Obama Signs Controversial Food Label Law Forcing Food Companies To Identify GMOs

Under a new law signed by President Barack Obama on Friday, food labels must declare whether or not the item contains genetically modified ingredients.

In a recent study, researchers said they did not find any evidence that genetically modified organisms (GMOs) pose a hazard to human health, but advocates say the public does not have access to a lot of information about what’s in their food.

The law requires companies to say the food is produced with genetic engineering in plain words on the package, along with a QR code, website information, or an 800 hundred number.

Opponents to the legislation argue this type of labeling discriminates against lower-income families, who may not have access to the technology required to learn further details.

President Obama Says Donald Trump Is ‘Unfit’ To Be President

President Barack Obama says Donald Trump does not appear to have basic knowledge about critical issues and is “woefully unprepared to do this job.”

“This job” being the President of the United States.

Mr. Obama also questioned why Republican leaders continue to endorse Trump while at the same time repeatedly denouncing what he says.

On Wednesday’s edition of NewsOne Now, Roland Martin and his panel of guests discussed Trump’s most recent awkward and seemingly indefensible moments on the campaign trail, during which a veteran gave the presidential candidate his Purple Heart.
