Stand for Children, who runs the family engagement program across the country called Stand University for Parents (Stand UP), an eight week curriculum that parents attends done in partnership with the school. It’s all about how to strengthen that bond between family and school to improve academic performance. Learning Heroes has graduated over 2,000 parents since it started, primarily African American and Latino families. Jacqui also has an amazing story of being raised on the west side of Chicago to teenage parents and how she now has a masters and runs a national program.
